I’ve been making Amigurumi dolls all day! If I make one for one niece,I need to make 2 more for the others. Today alone I’ve made a bunny, kitty (pictured above), penguin, and the deadmau5 head. My hands are tired! Sewing limbs on the body is definitely my least favorite part of making these dolls because I’m impatient. I did improve quite a lot in only one days practice so I gave in and bought safety eyes. my niece was confused why there wasn’t a face.. “is she happy?”is what she asked me.
Amigurumi madness today
so.. the amount of scarves, hoods, gloves, etc that i’ve made have really started to pile up and take up a good amount of room. I’ve decided to save money, yarn, time, and space by practicing my amigurumi skills. Besides, my nieces have been asking me to make them teddy bears for a while.
First, I made my sister a deadmau5 head.. minus the mouth. I was too lazy to add it on and the eyes are so big it wouldn’t really matter. close enough? haha

NOTE: after reading comments about the pattern, I did NOT work in a spiral. You will join each round with a slip stitch and chain 3 for the next row of double crochets.
Made a new slouchy beanie and my favorite one so far (other than the puff stitch). I used lion yarn and it is a bit stiff but you can easily mold it to the shape you want it to take and so I can manipulate this hat to lay flat or be puffy and round.
The last picture is too bright to show that the back has the illusion that the cap has been bunched by rapidly increasing the amount of stitches in each round.

Tried to replicate a pattern that I found for a bulky scarf using 2 skeins of yarn at the same time. I grabbed whatever I had.. that deep blue and off white. eh, it’s whatever. I could never get the stitches right for some of these rows and it was frustrating to say the least. This actually isn’t quite a complete scarf but I ran out of yarn and decided that this was a lost cause. So, I invested tons of yarn and time into this thing and now what? Well, it’s not that bad. It’s not the length I wanted it to be BUT with clever wrapping and tucking any scarf comes out looking decent. Not bad actually.. and against an all black outfit, this might not be too shabby!
Another cowl I made. I bought a bag of vintage style buttons from ebay YEARS ago and they’re finally getting used up for all my crochet ideas. I REALLY liked this pattern! I did really well following it as well EXCEPT for when it came to parallel crocheting the last rib band with the button holes. Mine came out diagonal, I felt like I couldn’t get the stitch count right ,ever. but whatever, it gets hidden by the huge buttons and I can totally see myself wearing this in the winter.
—Saw this interesting stitch and just ran with it. Honestly, I ran out of one type of colored yarn and knowing me.. I wasn’t going to use new yarn on finishing an old project so I just grabbed the nearest left over skein i had left and created this. It actually.. didn’t come out too bad. Somehow it’s long enough that if you wrap it around 3 times the colors alternate quite nicely.
WARNING: TONS of scarves and cowls will be uploaded.. I don’t know what happened but I just started making a bunch of them -___- I was experimenting with different stitches.

As I just recently mentioned, I’ve been going crazy thinking of ways to decorate and personalize my future and as of right now, nonexistent apartment. It’s also really hard to prepare for this move knowing that I can’t bring anything with me if it can’t be laid out flat as fabric. In hopes of sprucing up my coffee table, kitchen table, eating area, or even wall.. I made these cute owl coasters. One is WAY BIGGER than the other. just a different yarn. I’m pretty noob when it comes to gauge, weight, types of yarn. I just count the stitches and go. this was a huge reality check that yarn type and hooks matter!
Regardless, mama owl and baby owl came out pretty cute. The eyes took the longest because I didn’t want them to look so funky…
